Padova Classic Car Show 2011
This years show at Padova was as busy as usual with enough things to see to fill up a couple of days. I only had the Friday and after getting stuck in rush hour traffic north of Milan (due to them kindly closing the motorway slip road!) and then having trouble parking at Padova, I eventually walked through the door at midday!
I almost immediatly bumped into Emanuele, a multiple Dino owner from Turin. After a walk around the hugh halls filled with spares of all sorts (including a Ferrari Dino 206GT door) I met up with Walter Scudeletti and Bob Shipley beside a dark blue 246GT and a red and white Stratos. This years show included 4 Stratos's, not bad going. There were also some Fiat Dino Spiders and Coupés and 246GTs. One of the Spiders had a price tag of 85,000 euros and wasn't even perfect having the wrong seats, leather dash, wrong console, etc. A 2400 Coupé was up for 27,000 euros. These are "Padova prices" but never the less the values seem to be rising. There was also a spares dealer who is selling his apparently immaculate 2400 Yellow Spider for 75,000 euros. If you look carefully at the pictures below you will also spot a "Fiat Dino Register" sticker.
The next big event will be the new Milan Classic Car show from the 17-19th of February which promises to be a very big event, maybe even bigger than Padova although we will see as it will only be the first year. Club Dino Italia is going to have a stand so if you are attending the show, come and meet us!
